IFA7 Launched in Overberg
Saturday 12 March 2022 is a date that will be etched in history when it will be said that IFA7 was launched officially in South Africa and Africa, in Overberg. The partnership bewteen SAFA Overberg and IFA7 was pushed into the limelight with the Official Launch at the Swartberg High School old Hall.
In attendance was VIPs, invited guests and participants of the day.
A short program was hosted and an introduction of who IFA7 is and their plans for developing within the SAFA Overberg Region was shared by VP Gary Walbrugh (below).
Thereafter, goodie bags were handed out to the Regional Executive Members of SAFA Overberg and photo opportunites were taken with all involved.
From the hall, which incidently is the new home of the SAFA Overberg Academy to be launched in May this year, the participants were up to show their talents in the exhibition matches. U13 girls, U13 boys and then RWL teams were up next on the field.
The U13 girls bewteen Lucky Girls FC and Commodores FC went the way of Lucky Girls by 2-0. In the U13 boys, Commodores FC took Helderstroom FC boys to task and won 2-0.
In the main match, the boiling rivalry between Lucky Girls FC and Commodores FC was evident. With Commodores girls scoring the winner on the final whistle to win it 4-3 in an exhilirating match.
This partnership has only one direction to go, and that is up and forward. Special thanks to all who were involved to make this a reality. We in Overberg know that our junior development is going to be in very good hands in the future.
